hello, i was wondering what could cause for an application to be refused by an IO?

some people did a big wedding with tons of fotos, sent a huge amount of emails, txt msjs, phone bills and still got refused??

iam confused here,i did not do a wedding and only sent few photos, i feel like iam going to be refused for sure.

any ideas?

The IOs are not "fooled" by splashy weddings and tons of photos and stuff if it seems to them that the relationship was entered into just to facilitate the entry of the foreign national to Canada.  At the same time, when a couple is genuinely together for reasons that have nothing to do with someone getting into Canada they don't need a big wedding or tons of "stuff" to prove their intentions.

So, yes, you do have to provide "proof" - but the quality is more important than quantity, and if yours is truly a genuine relationship, you've nothing to worry about.

Married Sept '06 after 4 yr LDR.  Applied via outland ap in March 2007 -  refused Jan '08 due to inadmissible adult "dependent child".  Appeal filed Jan '08; still waiting for resolution.

I agree with RobsLov's perception. If you are genuine you dont have to worry about anything. However, you might be tested for the genuineness through refusal and eventually allowed by an appeal. That is what i felt for myself. Best Wishes
