Hi guys, I was due to pick up my passport from VO and then got this email. What does this mean? Has anyone been in this sort of issue before? Will it delay the issuance of my visa?

"We are currently awaiting verification checks and the application under review by an officer, once completed we will be sure to contact you"

please share your advice.

Thanx SATDXB,

But can verification checks done just before visas are issued? I would expect these to have been done well before this stage? What do you think?

Yes, same had happened with me. And for that i had to wait additional three months. Sometimes they skip some checks by mistake and do it at later stage.

What! 3 months is a long period! In which case my medicals and police certificates will have expired, - that will be the third time i will be taking them! i will hate to go through the process again, let alone being expensive in London.

Are these security checks or backgroung/family/ employment checks??? What are they specifically? In your case, did you get to know what verification checks they were?

Had you also already submitted your passports for stamping?

You think there should be nothing to worry about?

Yes, it all started after the submission of my PPs. If you dont have anything to hide, then no need to worry buddy.
These checks are security checks only which happens after medicals.

Thanks mate!

I hope they dont take too long as i dont want to go through the hustle of medicals and police checks!

Also, I was kind of ready to do my landing at the end of this month! Cool, like you said, nothing to hide so will wait and see. Hopefully not as long as three months in your case.

Can u share ur timeline please.
Passport request is done after background checks are completed not before.

In my case the verification checks are being done at the end of the entire process. That is what was suprising me!
