Hi Guys,

I was wondering what the protocol is after receiving the VISA. Is there a set time period in which we must make an entry in Canada?

My husband is working in the US while waiting for our immigration. If he has to quit right away then we need to be prepared.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks a bunch and good luck to all.  Smiley

yes there is a time limit during you have to enter canada as a PR, this depends on two things, your visa is expiring either when your Passport or your medical is expiring! whatever is expiring first....

He only has to land during a certain period of time (I received a 10 mth period on my COPR, but the period can vary), but he doesn't have to officially move right away. In fact, the rule is that he has to spend a total of 2 yrs out of each 5 yr period living in Canada to maintain his PR once he has landed. So he could land, go home to wrap things up at his job and move a little while later. Also, if you are a Canadian citizen living with him then he can count those days outside the country during which he is living with you as part of his 2 yr period.
