I just want to have an idea about what actually CIO does after receiving our application. I know it will forward it to relevant VO but while at CIO what are the essential checks that they perform.Do they verify any of our document before sending the application to VO or jsut make sure that their check list is met with and application contains all the docs listed in their checklist.
Plaese share if someone has a clue.
Thanks

1- The check your app for completeness.
2- they go through your documents to make sure you qualify as per the point system.
3- they encash the processing fee.
4- they make a positive / negative decision.
5- send the PER / NER (Positive / negative assesment) to applicant.
6- transfer the file to relevant VO for further bacground checks & processing.

Not only the documents are checked as per the checklist, most important is that at CIO they check the application for ministerial instructions (MI), as to whether the aplication falls under the 29 occupation list, job duties, NOC is evaluated over there. CIO is not a statutory body that is why the VIsa Office have better say when coming to right NOC and job duties under it.  Due to it you would have seen that visa office remark that " not performing enough job duties" etc  and applicants wondering why it was not told at CIO level and why they let the provcess go for years and years and then giving the shock.

Nice explanation.
Also you can look at the Qorax Sticky thread for more details.

Guys please can you tell me as for Job List. I am applying as a specialist physician, and also have a years experience as Internist. Both the GP and Specialist Physician are in the List eligible for Immi. But I am making first choice 3111 (sp.ph)..
Would they also add up experience as internist? or just will evaluate the Sp. Physician exp, though I do have it in abundance of 4 years.
THANKS
