Not a chance.  See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp  on how to apply and the forms.
Present processing time for applications already processed at Buffalo is 16-25 months, and with the changes to the Act, unless your skill set is one set by the department as need in Canada, then the application will be returned.  The list has not been published as yet.

Thank you for the help.

I saw in the page that if we go to visit canada we can apply for a temporary work permite while we are there.  If we try it that way, can we bring our furniture with us?

Thanks again

Hi

Thank you for the help.

You cannot apply for work permits in Canada as visitors, you can find a job and the employer can submit an LMO to service Canada that there are no PRs/Canadians available for the job and they have advertised extensively.  (Approval can take up to 6/8 months depending on the job/province).  BUT you still have to obtain your work permit outside Canada at a Port of Entry if you don't require a visitor visa or medical.  If you show up with your worldly possession, it very likely that you will be refused admission.
