Hi friends! I'd applied one year before and my points were 67. Now my work experience increased to 3 years at same workplace (before 2 yrs when applied). Should I send them the latest documents (like new reference letter) and ask them to update my file so I can score 69 points now..... Plz share your valuable views. My file is still RBVO.

your points are calculated based on the documents you submit to visa office...however VOs cant refuse to consider any documents you send before locking your points...now if you meet their criteria of 67 points without anymore submissions than it just adds to file they have created for you as updates but if in a scenario where you have less than 67 points and they recieve your updated docs before making a decision than i think they will consider new evidence before taking a decision as per points criteria...

You won't get any additional benifit if your points increase from 67 to 69(it will just be your mental satisfaction).
For you to claim additional points, send a letter stating that your work experience is now 3 years along with proof(yearly apprisal letters or salary slips)

Use the Bar code VO sent to you  and send the additional docs  there is no harm and you will have an upper edge

I'm afraid you would not get any extra point at this stage. It is useless to send any additional docs now.

Most answers are correct. While you can update your VO, you will not get any additional points. Once your file was initially received, it will be locked-in for date, it's referred in the law as locked-in date. CIC uses this date to lock people's age, education, experience for compliance and eligibility purposes.

As long as you pass the 67 pass mark, no worries.

Cheers

It says "take into account any years of experience that occur between application and assessment,
and for which the applicant has submitted the necessary documentation (R77). "

This info is collected from CIC website....here is the link  www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Indeed, it's there in the OP6, however, if you read carefully, it states between application and assessment, which takes place in the first few months in the CIO. Hence, they have to abide by the locked-in date.

Take this example: an applicant got 2 points towards his 67 for his age, at time of the application, he was 53 yrs and 10 months, if his file is processed after 3 months, then as per the above rule, he might become not eligible, which I doubt is a situation CIC would practice or entertain.

Just a thought!

Cheers

My two cents worth?  I think this applies to the PRE 26 JUNE 2010 applicants whose points were calculated when their detailed documents were submitted much later than the initial application.  In the present situation, the points are calculated when the full application is received at CIO, so there is no time gap.  I am in complete agreement with Mezo (again)!

@  mezo.... Frnd they have mentioned that the experience will be counted between application and assessment, and pre 26 june applicants are assessed after being 'In Process' .
