I have a fiance there in Canada but he can't petition me for "Fiancee Visa" for no such thing. I live in Philippines and we can't get married here for he needs to stay in the Philippines at least 3-4 weeks and he can't do so due to his work and can't have work leave that long. I can't go there as tourist or apply as immigrant, it needs too much show money and papers for properties and I don't have such.

Anyone can answer me if is there anyway for me to go there and not requiring me of too much show money and properties? or my love affair with my fiance has no chance of happy ending?

Thanks for help!

Why does it take 3-4 weeks to get married in the Phillipines?

You could apply as conjugal partners if you have combined your affairs as much as possible but are unable to live together or marry but that immigration class is meant more for people who are already married and can't get a divorce or people who are same sex and can't marry in their country for that reason.

If you do decide to try this route, you would have to prove that you have tried to get a TRV to come to visit him in Canada where you also could be married and that you were refused so that was not an option.  As for him not being able to take a leave of 3-4 weeks from his job, I do not know if that would be accepted.  It does say in the instructions for conjugal that it is not for people who were unwilling to leave a job so you could say if he can not get 3-4 weeks off, if he really loves you, why does not not change jobs?

LEON,

can i get your feedback pls?
I have a question reagrding TRV...
i have test to take that I cannot change sched.
Before the processing of my PR but I submitted my PR first for i fear It will close quota fast.
Now being single.... but in common-law application.
DO i have a chance to got to the COmmon Law route?

My fee for this test gets wasted if i do not try or if I get rejected for TRV ...
i do not know what to do... or how to convince ... TRV is just what i want only for this test...

If you need to get a TRV to take this test, then you must apply for it and do the best you can to convince them that you do not plan to overstay.

Your fiancée could give someone in Philippines a power of attorney and that person does all the marriage process on his behalf (if this is acceptable in Philippines).  One of my clients did that a few months ago and his wife coming to Canada next week.

Canadian citizen must obtain legal capacity to contract marriage from the Canadian Embassy personally, day 1 or upon arrival, if up to going to the embassy and it is not a holiday. The prospective bride and groom need to attend a pre marital counseling before they can apply for the marriage license (1 day). The marriage license application itself takes two weeks (10 working days) before it is released. The Filipino can obtain a cenomar before the other party arrives in the Philippines. Three weeks minimum is about right but would be pretty tight.

Thanks for all the replies.

I heard about visitor's visa and letter of invitation. Will this work for us even I'm not his wife yet?
