Hi,
Me and my partner wish to emmigrate to canada (Alberta), but honestly have no idea where to begin?
We initially want to live and work in Alberta for a few years with a possibility of permanent residence.
We are both British citizens and have been all our lives.
I am a qualified Pharmacy technician, and my partner is a motor parts technician.
My partner has family living in Alberta, (father and grandmother).
Would we need to apply for a family type visa as both of us wish to emmigrate or do I apply for a skilled worker visa and he apply through family sponsorship?

Absolutely any help on this matter as where to get started would be gratefully received.
Many thanks

If you are married or have lived together for 12 months or more (common law), you can apply together.  Your partners father as long as he's PR or citizen and has been living in AB for 2 years or more could sponsor you under AB family stream, see http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/familystream.html
