Wake up Pakistanis...CHC Islamabad has increased spousal immigration time. 2011

Hello everyone,

According to a latest updated time duration on Canadian Immigration website, the duration for processing the spousal visa from Pakistan has increased from 23 to 24 months!!!!

Should we all remain silent on this unfairly long processing time? and just curse our fate to be a Pakistani?

I think we should at least register our voice against this discriminatory attitude of CIC to our foreign department and to the diplomats of Pakistan to the Canada. The rights of Pakistanis Citizens should be given by having a diplomatic dialogue and the processing of immigration(particularly spousal immigration) cases should be done at faster pace.

Guys, I have already registered my complain and voice to the foreign office of Pakistan and the Diplomatic Mission of Pakistan in Canada.
I want you to put a strength to my voice by submitting your sentence  as well.

There are at least a couple of visa offices with longer spousal processing times than yours. Maybe it's because of the volume of applications going through these offices and nothing to do with discriminatory attitudes?

Many of the offices which had long processing times have recently improved due to hiring of new staff. As well, some applications go through in much less than the average processing times posted on the CIC website.

The timeline increased from 13 months to 24 months in less than 8 months time. In my opinion it has to do with the decrease in Spousal sponsorship Visa quota for Pakistan. There is no explaination on why the file collects dirt for 10 months after the file transfer to embassy and then they open it for initial review and start processing.

Two neighboring countries i.e. India & China both have a timeline of 6 months infact most cases are done in 3-4 months. If they need to hire new staff than what are they waiting for? Why does the couple have to go through this agony for 2 years?  So I doubt that its got to do anything with the shortage of staff and got to do with the Canadian diplomatic policy.

Yes it is important to write to the Minister of Immigration about the whole discriminatory attitude towards Islamabad. I will definitely write to CIC and  Minister about the whole issue. What type of priority processing for families is that. I am afraid if this time line will keep increasing for Islamabad, one day it would take 60 years for spousal cases.

Especially considering the population of both India and China.. the number of cases from there are probably ten-fold compared to Pakistan. And yet, they get processed sooner.

Amazing, isn't it? Someone said the same thing about Kiev vs. Moscow offices regarding the increase and decrease in their posted times (I think they said Kiev did a dramatic wait drop and Moscow a jump of one month even though the latter has more visa officers and fewer cases to process....that's what they claimed at least). Meanwhile, there are only 9 visa offices for "Africa and Middle East" and only 4 of those are in sub-Saharan Africa. I don't know....maybe I'm wrong, but I think there's no logic to that stuff.
