Well I'm still living here in Istanbul. At the end of February it will be 6 months. I filed for my appeal after my
husband was refused Permanent Residence Status near the end of August. There was a request for my
address here after that I heard nothing. So after e-mailing them and phoning and getting no response I
contacted my local MP in Duncan and received an answer today stating that my appeal application was only
received on January 21. And to not expect any action on their part until at least May. I was also reminded
that appeals can take up to 10 months to be heard. I'm so frustrated. I expected the 10 months but
to have my papers accepted so late (5 months late). Huh

Well I just needed to vent that. Other than that my husband and I are doing well. I'm really happy to be
here with him. I also really miss my family in Canada. I also miss the food there. I also miss the freedom to
just go where I want to go and do what I want. I've learned so much more about the culture here. It's
kind of hard living with his whole family but I'm getting used to it. I know I made the right decision to come
here. I love my husband so much and I know he loves me. I just wish we could be starting our life in
Canada sooner.

Any suggestions? I just want to tell them they need to hurry it up.

Hi,
I suggest you try for the CAIPS so that you will be able to know what is the delay and reason for held up after the interview.

I received a stack of papers well rather my Mother did. As per their request they wanted my
address here in Turkey but still posted everything to my Moms house. I'm assuming they
send you the CAIP notes after your spouse is refused Permanent Residence Status. They are
being courriered to me now and should be here by Monday or Tuesday. Its all very frustrating.
I'll have more news then I hope.

I feel the pain

I too was also refused, my husband being a Turkesh national and I am Trinidadian. the IO rejected based on marrage of convenience. June 2010 we send in our appeal and nothing to date. it is very frustrating and saddens us every day that passes.

Hope the near is end for cases like us too.
