Waiting for PR status but willing to Study in Canada

Hi there, Does anybody can answer if I can apply for a Study permit while I'm waiting for PR status?. I put my PR application on August 2.007  and receive my AOR on September 2.007 but now want to study in Canada and prepare my education while waiting (the waiting time for applications from Caracas-Venezuela is 22 Month average). What CIC will think if I apply for a Study permit and try to go there with my family for about 1  year ?. I'm thinking about go to Canada for that time but only if I can be there with my Wife a Kids (just for study) ... Can this be done?.. Does this affect my PR application?  ... I really appreciate your advice in this matter.

Yes, you can apply, you will have to meet the criteria and the funds, and CHC will have to believe you will return home after the course.
