Hi, Anabelle. Yes, I hope we can meet in Winnipeg soon. BTW, my sister-in-law works at a travel agency in Makati. She says that December-January is the peak season for Canada and that March or April will be a better time to buy the tickets.

Your passports are coming very soon. Send them via courier right away with your pictures so that we can have something to look forward to. Pls keep us posted.  Wink

Hi, vehla_jatt.

In the letter that the Canadian Embassy in Manila sent me, it is said that they'll do their best to send us back the passports stamped with visas within ninety (90) days upon their receipt of the passports.

Did you read your PPR carefully? Wasn't anything mentioned about how long it could take New Delhi to send your passport back with visa?

vehla_jatt, I think there's a difference between the processing of your papers and that of mine. In my case, the passport request came 3 months after the results of our medical exams had been forwarded to the embassy. We paid the RPRF together with the visa processing fees and complete application package. We're under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (Family Stream). How about you?

Vehla_jatt, I think the procedure differs depending on the consulate or embassy that processes the papers. let's just be patient and wait for our visas to come.

sammy09, i paid 95k for the whole family--my husband, my two daughters aged 11 and 8, and me (processing fee and rprf). You don't need to pay for the rprf of minor dependents. But I think the fees have gone up due to peso devaluation. The CEM website revised its schedule of fees in June 2009.

anabelle, if we can get our passports back with visa in january or february, we are planning to leave by april.

hi, guys! I've just checked our application status in the cic website and it says "Decision made. Medical results have been received. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

Does it mean our application has been approved? We sent our passports to the embassy on dec 29. here's our timeline:

march 2008--application submitted to mpnp office in winnipeg
march 2009--approved as provincial nominee
may 2009--submitted visa application package to canadian embassy in manila
september 2009--received requests for medicals and additional docs
december 22, 2009--received PPR via email
december 29, 2009--sent passports to embassy via LBC
january 12, 2010--e-cas changed status to 'decision made'

i hope it means we'll be receiving our passport stamped with visas. Cheesy
