waiting for my appeal

I sent in a request to the Vancouver IAD on September 25th 2011. I've not even received confirmation of the request being sent.
Is this normal?

I've come across some posts here where users say they have gotten a letter of confirmation after sending in the request. I think I've even read of an ADR being scheduled about 3 months after the request to appeal.

Where is my confirmation? I'm going crazy with all this waiting.
Dealing with Accra was absolute hell and way too slow. Now this.

i don't know about vancouver but i send in notice of appeal on dec 16 and got an confirmation letter on dec 23 that they have recieved the notice of appeal...but maybe u can call the IAD to see whats happening good luck..hang in there i know it is very stressful but we cant do nothing but wait...

I sent a request to the Immigration Appeal division in Vancouver 3rd week of November and just before Christmas I received confirmation letter from them.  My immigration consultant told me that if I get ADR it will be some time in July or August.

I heard from my MP's office this past week. Apparently the Vancouver IAD requested our file from Accra on October 24 and it was sent a few days later.
I so desperately need this to move along.
