They usually don't issue visa more than a month before and usually issue a week before the beginning of classes. So u may get a medical call in the end of Nov or Beginning of Dec.

If they r not contacting u thats good. They only contact u if there is some confusion about ur application or something missing.

U may email them but i don't think it would be very useful because it won't expedite the process. However, there is no harm in sending one email.

Kista,
I already sent two emails in previous month. Is it ok to send third email? Will sending more emails to embassy make the application refused??

I don't think visa decisions are based on number of emails you send per month. If you want to email try to make it a little different from your previous ones so that they don't get annoyed. For example you may mention that your term start date is approaching so you need this information soon.

i know its hard to contact embassy. But in view of my experience they contact you when there is something to talk about. You may find there phone number from website and try it.

Kalyan,
I am waiting for the initial response from the past 104 days. January semester start date is also approaching. I already missed fall semester. I am worrying that I will miss january semester. How long do I have to wait?? What is the maximum time that one has to wait for visa?

Sometimes it really gets too late. One person on this forum got so late that he withdrew his application and applied for US visa instead.
