Angry  Our application  was  received in Moscow on Sept  21 ,2010. We  waited four months in a Que  before the opened the application.  Now we are about 3 1/2 months into the processing times and have heard nothing  from any one. They do not respond to any inquiry about the status of our application. What to do ?
From information off of their web page they say it is an average of 90 percent processed in 8 months.  Does that 8 months include the waiting time before they open the application or after?
Our application was  put together  by a retired immigration  employee with 29 years experience working  with in the immigration service. He feels our application is perfect with no reason to raise an eye brow ... So what takes so long  ?
I am planning to return to Russian in the  near  future, I wonder if I should fax in a request for a meeting with the  consulate? I have considered going to the CBC news and ask  for their help on the weekly  " GO PUBLIC"  segment of the national news .
I expect that if the consulate got his name and photo posted on the Nation News he would  pay attention  to our  plight.
 What  do  you think ?

Why don't you request your CAIPS notes to find out what's going on? Also, have you tried asking your MP here in Canada for help since you've now exceeded the 8 month processing time?

I'm not sure that going to the press is a great idea in your case. I know you've been waiting for more than eight months and that seems like an eternity. However there are people here who've been waiting several years (and not just a few people). Moscow also has some of the shortest processing times for spousal applications (compare it to Islamabad which is at 21 months).

What I'm trying to say is that I don't think you'll find much sympathy or support in the media for your case since there are many people in much worse situations. So I would try other routes first.
