Smiley Hi Everyone,
This info is very usefull for people who will be submitting their passports for visa stamping at the London Visa Office. As I have experienced myself last week.
I submitted my passports for stamping on Thursday the 10th Feb, and I was given a receipt to collect passports the 2nd Thursday, however since I needed my passport urgently, and couldn't really wait for the 2 weeks to finish I went the following Thursday to check if the passports were ready, and to my great surprise and excietment they were actually ready, and I collected them and I'm now back home in Dubai.

An advsie would be if you really need your passport try to be there early on the day of submittion probably by 1 o'clock max, as probably what they do is issue passports to a certain number of people and usually if you are there first you might be able to get it the following THURSDAY.

NOW no need to ask them if it will be ready in one week as they will say no, and realy on the day of submittion they rarely talk to you, they only ask you for your file number to write on the receipt, and the envelope they will be putting your passports, form and photos in, so it is highly recomended that you actually make sure you have everything you need to give them as they will not receck these documents before putting them in the envelope. If you go the following week for collection again no need to tell them you came in last week,  they will just ask for your receipt number and the receipt and if they have it they will handed it over to you.
That's it for now, if anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Cheesy Cheesy

Hey great news!
Any idea how long it usually takes when you send them to London by post?
We're still waiting for ppr but if it takes any longer to come then the time they wil take to stamp the passeports will become an issue...
Thank you!

Once we receive PPR request, do we need to send it by post to London VO or can do we need to submit passports at Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi?
As per my understanding, we cannot send the passports out of the country by any post service, its illegal. 2ndly, sometimes, it takes long to get the passports and it will be very difficult to stay in another country for long without passports.

U have to send it to London. CHC-Adh doesn't deal with PR.

Hi Nivali,
just as Qorax said you have to send them to London VO by mail or submitt them in person to London VO, and that won't take that long. Good Luck on whatever you decide.

Guys, this is very good information.

I submitted to the london embassy in person. Usually pick ups are on the 2 thursday after drop off. In my case they sent me an email a day before my pick up date saying I should wait. Its coming to 2 months. have you experienced any delays in picking up passports from the london embassy? or do you know of any case where this has happened???

Today being a thursday, I will definately pop by and see. I will send you all a post when i return.
