Hello,

I read few threads in this forum regarding engineering jobs etc and got a mixed response.
Correct me if I'm wrong, getting a job related to your field without a canadian experience is tough.

I have ~5 years of experience in VLSI (chip design) from world's top semiconductor company.
Will my work-experience in INDIA for this MNC recognized for jobs in Canada? If NO, what if I do masters from canadian university will my work experience be considered?

Lastly, can someone give their views on the volume of VLSI(chip design) jobs in Canada?

Thanks,
Abhi

I did some research on my own before posting this query.

I tried searching in workopolis, monster etc.. but didnt find jobs as much as I can find in canadavisa.com/career_zone/canadian-immigration-job-search.htm
So, I really dont know how are the prospects for chip design aspirants in canada.

AMD, PMC-Sierra and very few other companies hire VLSI guys in Canada.

Can some give me a detailed infor regarding this?

It will help me decide between US and Canada for Masters and future job prospects.
