Hello everyone!

A friend wants to come to Canada as a tourist.  He is allowed to learn English while here on holidays without a study visa if the course is less than 6 months.  He can also apply to extend his study visa if the course lasts longer or if he decides to extend his studies (so I've been told by 2 agents at Immigration, when I called).  What happens if he is offered a job while he is here?  Can he apply for a Work Permit while in Canada??  How long is the wait??

Thanks to anyone who has answers for me Smiley

1.  He will not be issued a study permit, as he will be at course of less then 6 months, so he would have nothing to extend.
2.  He must apply outside Canada for the work permit (if no medical or doesn't require a TRV could do it at a Port of Entry}
once he has an approved Labour Market Opinion.
