Hi,
My husband applied for a work permit for me while applying a post graduation work permit for himself. Recently, I was told that most likely my application will be rejected. Now, my question is what would be my situation if this is the case whether I should apply for the extension of my visitor record or even without that I can still accompany my husband and stay in Canada.

What country are you from? Are you currently in Canada as a visitor?

You would have to apply for a visitor extension.

Did you come as a visitor? Look for an employer willing to apply for LMO in your favour. If you find one, apply to extend your stay and apply for WP but initial WPs are applied for at visa offices outside Canada.

Actually I have visitor visa until August 2012. My husband applied for WP after graduation 2 weeks ago and applied for me WP as well. I do not need extension, cause I already have visitor record until August 2012.

I just want to know if I can get WP??

That's a long VR validity. Anyway, you can get a WP if you found an employer willing to do the paper work for temporary foreign workers (ad/LMO)

Yes, because it appears that CIC is no longer issuing SOWP to spouses of Post Graduation Work Permits.

Hi

So you think I can have open work permit?

Well if CIC is not issuing them to spouses of PGWP, then you aren't going to get one are you?  You would have to obtain an LMO from an employer.
