Hi all,

I applied the TRV application to the Detroit office on June 18th and havent heard back from them yet.  I sent an email to them, but no reply.  How long does it take to get the approval?  30 Business days or just 30 days? Please share your thoughts.  Thank you.

Swarna

Swarna,

Refer this link. If your application is reached after 18th you have to worry about your application.

because Detroit has stooped accepting the TRV applications now.

@ hks11,  please go to the Detroit webpage for the canada visa for the important message.
The Detroit Office doesnt receive any TRV applications as of June 18, 2012.  You may want to check that.

No.... I am not sure if they have started processing early June applications. All that I have heard is the folks that had submitted in May.....

Any one from June 2012?

I do see that they no more process Temporary Resident Permit and not the Temporary Resident Visa. Anyway, by going through all these threads it looks like processing will take time may be a month or two so... I am not sure how is it going to be in my case since I have US visa stamping only till this month end.

I am in the same boat, my I-94 expires in 3 weeks but I have my H1B visa until 2014.  My TRV application was received by the consulate on 6/18, and I am not sure if I will get the TRV approval before my 1-94 expires. Doesn anyone know if there is a grace period on I-94 expiry? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

My case is slightly different, US visa ends this month but I-94 is still available for another 2 years.

My visitor visa application reached the Detroit consulate on June 13, 2012. It's been 34 days and still no response. Today I received a reply from the consulate saying that applicants belonging to certain countries are subject to mandatory wait period, and normal processing times take effect only after mandatory wait periods are over. However, they did not specify how long the mandatory wait period is. I couldn't find this info on their website either. Does anyone know how long is the mandatory wait period? I am from Pakistan, by the way.
