Thinking of calling my parents to Canada for visiting. If someone could please share their experience and answers some of my questions:

1. How much money do they need in their bank account?
2. How much money do I need in my bank account?

I have all my T4s and letter from work.

Thanks, please share guys.

You have T4s and letter from work, that's good.
1.What's your status in Canada, are you Canadian citizen?
2.Since when you are living in Canada ?
3.Do your parents have any property in India ?
4.Your parents do not need to show money in their account, because you are bearing the expenses for  them.

 Cool

It doesn't matter whether you are Canadian citizen and since when you are living in Canada.  Just that you need to provide the document outlined in the visa checklist to the visa office.  If you/the person you want to invite don't have one or more of the required document, proceed with finger crossed.  Cheesy

1. Recently became a PR after studying for 5 years (was on a Student Visa + Work Permit).
2. Living in Canada since 2003 and haven't met my family since 5.5 years
3. They only have a plot + FDs and Cash.
4. So why they need to attach their bank statements

your case is clear, you are eligible to invite your parents. When I invited my parents, they did not ask for the bank statements of parents. May be it's a new rule, because of fraudulent in India. But there is no harm in giving bank statement,if they are asking.
In your case,if you provide all the documents and prove, they will surely get the visa. Don't worry.  Cool

Everything looks fine. Get an apartment soon. It's good to have address of an apartment.  I was so excited, when i invited them. I can understand your feeling.
Your case is good, they will give visa for your parents. Don't worry. Cool

I have also applied for Family Sponsorship for my parents recently. I am waiting for the acknowledgement letter.

Question: Wondering what visa my parents should apply for? Multiple or Single Entry Visa.

Also, there's a new law to give 10 year multiple visa to parents who's Family Sponsorship is already in process.

@ ashokcan could you please answer my question

Thanks

I dont know much about this topic.... But what caught my eye was the part that you want to get your parents accross... as you have not seen them for 5 long years... Sad

Just for that alone... i hope and pray that all goes well.. and you get the visas you need.

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you .... and sending you prayers and positive energy !! Cheesy Grin

Thanks for the reply. Wondering what Visa your mother applied for i.e. Multiple Entry or Single Entry.

Did she have a travel history before? My parents do not have a travel history.
