Visitor Visa for parents, while their sponsorship is in progress

Hi all,
I have applied for my parents sponsorship about 4.5 years ago and now they sent some forms saying: "We are now ready to begin processing your sponsorship application and require additional information"
Need to submit all this by Feb end.
My question is: My parents have to come to Canada in April for my brothers wedding, so will be applying for a visitors visa, will this sponsorship application give us any trouble? and what is the best way to do this?

For parents TRV application, having a pending sponsorship status should help rather than hinder.

My suggestion is do try not to lie or to hide the sponsorship status because that's the first thing VO will note from your parents' FOSS notes ANYWAY.

Just state the truth - they have pending sponsorship, and this visit is of temporary nature to attend your brother's wedding only.

Yeah say the truth, I beleive they will be approved.
Submit an evidence proving the wedding date if possible ..
