Hi,
We are soon going to be married in December 2009. I want my finacee to visit me in Canada for shopping, etc before our wedding. How good are chances of her getting visa if we honestly provide:

+ Provide a copy of my tickets - indirectly proving that she will return back to India for our wedding.
+ Proof of our relationship
+ Specify that the purpose of visit is pre-wedding shopping
+ Sepcify that eventually after our wedding, we will apply for the spousal PR sponsorship.

Any other suggestions?

hello,
are you living in Canada? To be honest it will be really difficult for her to get a visitors visa, especially knowing your relationship.
good luck

Suin - yes, I live in Canada. Do you think even after writing that (i) after shopping, we will go back to India for our wedding - we can also show the proof that the wedding is actually happening on the specified date in India - example, bookings, etc?

We will also specify that the spousal sponsorship application will be followed immediately after the wedding.

Please do share your opinions.

I would apply for the visa but I would NOT give them all those details. That will likely get her refused for sure. You will be more likely to get the visa if you can prove that she has reason to return home eg. to a job, a family etc.  If you have any wedding invitations or anything like that, you could show those.
