VISITOR VISA EXTENSION WHILE SPOUSE ON VACATION

Hi, I have completed my education here and applying for work permit, my wife and my daughter were on visitor visa and have gone to India for a vacation. Her visa expires on Aug 30, She intends to come here by Aug 15,

My questions is Can I extend visa for my wife and daughter along with my post graduate work permit when my wife is on a visit to India?

Or DO i need to wait for my wife to visit here on Aug 15th and then apply for the visa extension.

In case I apply for the visa extension Aug 15th It would't arrive by Aug 30, Can she still stay or she needs to return to India.

If it's multiple entry, she can come back to Canada on or before the visa expires. As to being granted entry and for how long is dependent upon the port of entry officer because having a valid visa does not guarantee entry.

Thanks Job_seeker, It is multiple entry and she can travel to Canada before the visa expires but I need to extend her stay and want to apply for the temporary resident extension, which I can apply for online if she was here , now that she is not in Canada how do I extend it.

You can apply for the extension of the allowed visit if she's in Canada not extension of the Temporary Resident Visa; she needs to apply for a new TRV outside Canada, if the TRV is expired. You can not apply for the extension of a visit because right now she's not in Canada visiting.

Thanks very much job_seeker, So I have the option of only applying for a new TRV.

Since her and my daughter's visa is expiring on Aug 30th, and I would be getting my postgraduate work permit in another 2 weeks,

1) Can my wife apply for a TRV from India based on my post graduate work permit and proof of funds for next 1 yr

2) How long does a TRV take given that she is applying for a new TRV before the old TRV's expiry date.

She has booked her tickets for Sept 12 and is it possible to get a TRV before Sep12 if she applies say July end
