visitor visa and marriage any help please

hi i am going to be visiting my girlfriend in canada and we are wanting to get married once i am there.  What kind of documents do i need to have with me i am from uganda and of course she is candian citizen. any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

also about when they say to apply from outside of canada either for a work visa or study visa can i travel to the us border and apply from there to my country?
