visitor from domonican republic

this is all new to me.  we have visited the dominican republic the past 4 or 5 years and now would like to sponsor a dominican friend to visit our home for a vacation but do not know the procedure to go through or what the requirements are.any directions would be appreciated step by step if possible.will be returning to dominican republic in later part of march 2009.would like to be able to set up the process at that time if possible.again any help or direction greatly appreciated.thank you.

You write a letter stating what you are going to be responsible for and why the person wishes to visit Canada. They complete the application with the supporting documents and hand deliver it to Santo Domingo.
