Hi! I hope someone can help me with this (hopefully simple) question.

I have been in Canada with a temporary work permit since October last year, and I have been living with my boyfriend here since March of this year. My visa runs out this October but I am hoping to take a six month course, which I believe I can do as a visitor here. When March 2012 rolls around, I'd like to apply for permanent residency, since my boyfriend and I will have been living together a year. But, as I would have been a visitor for several of those months, will I still be eligible?

1.  Yes, if you meet the definition of Common/law.  It is not just living together for a year, you have to merge your lives.
