I was thinking about applying for the Quebec federal skilled worker (qsw) visa. I just have a couple of questions

1.  Can the qsw applicant go to Canada on a visiting visa while the skilled worker visa is being processed?
        a.   If yes, what would work status be while on the work visa and skilled worker is being processed (Will the person on the visiting visa be eligible to work)?

2.  If on a visiting visa can one apply for jobs or even acquire a job and have the employer sponsor for a visa so work can be started and income starts coming in?

Thanks in advance for the help

1.  Yes, but if they need a TRV they still have to apply for it.
2.  They would be a visitor and cannot work.
3.  There is nothing stopping you from applying for jobs, but you would still have to get an approved Labour Market Opinion, a CAQ, before you could apply for a work permit outside Canada.

Hi

Thanks for the info.
1. So a (TRV) travel visa would still need to be applied for? How long are travel visas good for?
2. What is a CAQ is this a labour market opinion? Do you know how I can apply for this or where I could find more information on it?

Thanks again!
