I am a Malaysian citizen holding a single entry temp visa which I've applied in Singapore and am currently staying in Canada. Can I travel to Jamaica and come back from new york without applying for a new visa?

No, you can only travel to the US, and St. Pierre and Miquelon within the validity of your status,  otherwise you need a new TRV.
