Outland application (not yet filed, hopefully in 4 or less weeks), Buffalo. I am US, husband/sponsor is Canadian. I was given a one year exclusion order and am sending away for ARC shortly so we can try to be there in August instead of after the order expires at the end of Oct.

Multi-part questions:

I've read this thoroughly: http://www.us2canada.com/visitor_record.html

But I still have questions/need clarification.

1. Basically, my husband has to prove to the border officer that we will be approved for PR for him to be allowed to bring us through to stay with him while waiting for it to complete, is that correct? How do we do this? I can't imagine how much or how little paperwork we would need to show them we're in a real relationship and CIC would see that and approve the PR. Do I need to copy the entire application packet and have my husband give it to them?

2. Visitors record. Alberta healthcare says they need a 12 month visitor's record to show we plan on being in the province for X number of days out of the next year. Can my husband just ask for it?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

One more question I forgot to ask in my original post: Would CBSA take issue with me hauling a small uhaul trailer of belongings (everything else would be in storage and I could show them that) - I have 4 kids and would like to take their toys, books and clothes and that is a lot of stuff for 4 kids. Then I'd drive a uhaul with the rest of my stuff when I land. I can leave household stuff and most of my things in storage but I'd really like to make it as easy on the kids as possible by taking their things.

I think a U Haul might make it look like you were moving in  Cheesy However I know how much stuff 4 kids can need, my ex has 5, 2 mine and 3 with her second husband. Going anywhere with them is like moving day lol. Seriously though, it might be pushing your luck especially where you have the exclusion order on record.

I try to travel as light as possible to help avoid giving them any reason to think I might be planning to stay.

I'm 50-50 on this. On one hand, they're going to know I'm staying since my husband will be asking them to let us stay with him while the PR application is in process.

If we get a border guard in a good mood, we'll basically sail on through. But if that's not the case, we'll be turned back. But with our stuff 1000 miles away...

Maybe my husband will bring his mom with him and drive his pick up and we can just put the stuff in the back and have her drive the truck so it doesn't look so ....like we're planning on staying? Even through we are and they'll know that?

So confused....
