Hi all,

I'm about to get my permanent residency to Canada (and very excited along with it!)

I have until March 2010 to land and will make the big move at the end of Feb 2010. However before then, I'm planning a few short trips to scope out some areas that I'd like to live in, meet employers etc.

Firstly is this possible? I'll only be going for a week or so. When I do go for these short trips – will I still need to take all my essential documents with me? I won't be taking any household items as I'm not officially moving until next Feb.

I hope someone can help.

Hi there, My boyfriend is in the exact same situation as you both were. He is coming from the UK and would like to visit before making the big move a few months after. I was wondering if you could tell me how it went for you and if he has to declare his PR on the visit or when he moves permanently?

Thanks so much for your time and we'd really appreciate any advice you have
