BTW,  @ futurebest, could you please provide a sample of your passport request? is it mentioned in that, that you can go directly and get it stamped?? I just wanted to see the wordings...just anxious.

The format changed, now-a-days US takes all finger print.

I landed on Sep 2010 few months ago, and they only took my pointer fingerprint at the US borders, that is why i was wondering whether they took all of his fingerprints.


My situation was somehow similar to futurebest with one exception which is: i sent my cousin with my passport to Buffalo, and went to the US borders to turn back to Canada and land after i got my PR visa stamped on my passport but he went there before he gets his PR visa.

yes they took my 10 fingers prints and each finger seperately too.

SAME INSTRUCTION I also received. i thought of i can go and pick up my visa same day.actually i did not know that i cant enter without visa. i thought of whatever the things i had on my hand which i meant the letter i got it from buffalo to enough to go and pick up my visa. i still did not get my passport back. i'm worrying and scared too. i sent my passport january 11,2011. till today i did not receive my passport. i dont know why.pls reply me. i'm scared now.

Worried about what ! you just sent it on Jan, 11. relax and wait to receive it back. It takes between 15 days to 1 month from the day they receive your passport in Buffalo to get it back.


Keep checking your e-case status, whenever you see it says "Decision Made", it means that the visa has been stamped on your passport.

thanks for replying me. i sent my passport to port errie canada office. not the buffalo office.because they say if ur address is in canada pls submit ur passport to port errie  canadian consulate general office.

Yes, i know, and Fort Erie is gonna send your passport to Buffalo visa office for visa stamping, and Buffalo will stamp the visa, and send your passport back to Fort Erie. Then Fort Erie will send it back to you.


The visa stamping, and any other steps regarding the PR application take place in Buffalo. Fort Erie is just acting as an intermediary between the applicants and Buffalo.

today i checked my ecase status. it says decision made and buffalo office may contact you like that. i'm so anxious until i see my passport. i dont know still they rejected or approved.

It means that they already stamped the visa on your passport. Just wait until they send it back to Fort Erie, and Fort Erie will send it back to you.
