Hi [ quote author=mylady833 link=topic=84788.msg1034029#msg1034029 date=1317755616] hello i need to renew my Temporary Resident Visa and was told by CIC agent that i need to apply it on my country of residence w/c is Philippines or US. Does any one here had experience renewing their Visa? if yes which Visa office outside canada is better? [/quote] Assuming you have a valid work permit in Canada, it is a lot easier to apply by mail to one the Canadian offices in the US than Manila. The instructions are here: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/visas/trv-apply_demande-vrt.aspx?view=d

mylady and bitoyzz,
Yes to both of you that it is okay to stay in Canada and not have a valid TRV for as long as you have a valid WP and don't leave Canada. But you never know when there would be emergencies and you need to leave for say the Phils. But you can apply from the Phils too.

Thanks for your reply job_seeker. I have to ask some question, I already applied for an Open Work Permit & Restoration of my status 2weeks ago. Today I received a positive L.M.O. and i would like to send another application of a work permit for specific employer. Do i have to pay a restoration fee again or not. Thank you. Onang.

If you've already sent an application for restoration (together with the fee of course), you only need to pay for the closed WP but attach a copy of the receipt paid for the restoration and also a cover letter explaining that you have applied for the restoration.
