Hi guys,
I am British citizen married to an Indian citizen (who has a United Kingdom Spouse visa valid for another two years). whilst on trip to India ( we are based in India aswell as UK) we came to know that my wife's grandmother in canada was serious ill. we decided to apply for a tourist visa for her in india itself. (my son and I being British needed no visa). all the necessary documents were submitted along with personel bank statements to the tune of CAN $ 100,000 and sponsership from her family in canada, docter's certificate mentioning that the granny is ill.

Anyway today just receieved the passport back saying that they have reason to believe that my wife will not leave canada after the expiry of her visa therefore the visa is refused.

This seems really strange to me, why would the visa officer think that anyone would  want to live illegeally in canada when they already can live legally in UK. to top it up the Canadian High Commission website says they dont allow appeals.

Any help from anyone out there?

hello,
why not to try to apply from the UK? Indian office is quite hard to get TRV from.
good luck
