Visa Processing Time........... Is it normal?

Hi,
I would like to ask your opinion or share your experiences perhaps on waiting for the Permanent Resident Visa Application. My partner got approved last January 2009 to sponsor me in going to Canada. I also received a letter to confirmed that my papers are in Visa Office in Manila for further processing since I am now here in the Philippines. They also instructed me to send my Original Passport, NBI, CENOMAR, other documents that could support our relationships. Prior to the approval of my partner to sponsor me, I got my medical examination already as per advise my our lawyer whose based in Canada. I got my medical examination sometime August 2008 and I received a letter for further examination sometime October of the same year. After that, I had no feedback with my medical status already.
After that letter requestiong my primary documents, they sent us letter again asking for addtional documents such as old pictures, phone bills and etc. which we already sent it before. Maybe they just want more. All the papers needed were already sent last March 2009 and until now we don't received feedback from the embassy. Everytime I visit the CIC Website to check my application status it's still IN PROCESS. If we based it on the processing time as per CIC under Family Class, it will be 6 months this coming July.
Is this processing normal? Aren't we notified for further information about our application until we got approved? What are we going to do is just to wait only?
I hope you could share your experiences here and can give me peace of mind upon waiting my application here.
Your response is very highly appreciated.
Thank you

Hey there,
As far as I have read over this forum, Manila is a very busy office, and with the fact that you send them additional document 2 times, I think you still in the normal processing time.
when you click on "in process" on e-cas, does it show medical received?

Thank you for your reply.
When I checked my status, It didn't appeared there "medical received". it should be appeared there? I assumed that they already know about it since I got my follow-up examination sometime October last year hence, I don't received any letter advising me to have my medical examination up to this date.
Thank you again.

Vinz, there are quite a few here posting from the Phillipines. Do a search on the country name or city, and you will see them.
