Hey friends,
I am an international student from India.I am applying in Humber college for admission in September 2012 intake in a two year post graduate diploma.I am more interested in Fanshawe college which is offering a better program but it is a post secondary program.

Since I am a graduate in India and I doubt my visa getting approved for a post secondary program. So, I am planning to move to Fanshawe from Humber once I reach Canada.

Friends, Here I need your advice. Will there be any problem with my stay if I change my program from Post Graduate level to Post Secondary level ??
Will it be fine to change it then ??
I just hope they don't send me back..

PLEASE HELP

Hi,

1. It's for CIC to decide if 'all is well' with your application. You need to fill up an "Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay, or Remain in Canada [IMM 1249]".

Hi,

why are you interested in post secondary program after getting graduation degree? I think its waste of time and money too.

because you have already completed graduation and after graduation its better to apply for either post graduate diploma or masters program.

I think it can creates problem because post secondary program is lower than the bachelors degree. You have to explain in your SOP with strong reasons that why are you interested in post secondary program after graduation.

Hi,

1. There are NO set guidelines for such a situation. I believe it should not be an issue. All you need is to fill up IMM 1249 application www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

Hi enfield,

Why does the OP need to file any form? Isn't transfer between institutions/study programs permitted without any application?

Hi,

1. Because OP intend to move from the higher to lower level of education. No application/paper work is required in case you move at the same level; secondary to secondary/post secondary to post secondary.
