Dear CIC,

I know that you are terribly busy processing applications, and putting off sending me an AOR regarding the file that was forwarded to you almost 5 weeks ago.  I can see that your time is precious, and that you really need to be focusing on your work.

However, when you promise us Quarterly updates on the Visa Office processing time, I hold out great hopes that this will happen.  I assume that this serves two purposes:  One, to keep the sponsors/applicants informed.  This cuts down on the e-mails, phone calls, and letters you receive asking about the processing of applications.  Two, to give your offices some amount of accountability.  If they have to report how quickly they are getting applications processed, it might give them incentive to get them through more quickly.

Now, I'm no mathematologist, but I'm pretty sure that Quarterly (in a yearly context) would be every 3 months.  I don't mean to be a nag, but the last update on the Visa office time line was posted on October 22, 2010.  This would indicate that the next "quarterly" update would be scheduled for January 22, 2011.  Which was almost a month ago.

Some of us have chatty visa offices who keep us in the loop.  Some have stoic, introverted visa offices who don't want to tell us anything.  You are the common thread who can toss us a bone when no one else will.

So please, CIC, give us a hand here.  We understand that at the end of the day, you tuck our applications in and tell them goodnight.  You leave your place of employment and go home to your wives, your husbands, your children, your dog or your cat or your beta fish – whatever happens to be “family” to you.  Many of us do not have that luxury.  Some of us are waiting to be with our family again.  Some of us are waiting to be able to work in Canada and contribute to making our home more stable and economically secure.  We get the disappointment of another day of not hearing anything, of long, Anxious, frustrating waiting.

Give it some thought.  It's okay if you continue to postpone my AOR for another day while you crunch the timeline numbers and send them out for publication.  I'm willing to sacrifice that much.

Thanks for the consideration,
Another frustrated applicant

You haven't looked at the processing times have you?  Latest update for family class is 16/02/11  unless you meant to post in Skilled worker.

hehe  Thanks, pinklady!  I've been stalking that website for 6 weeks waiting for an update, and nothing yet.  At this rate, it'll be a semi-annual update rather than a quarterly.  Wink

I know, I was checking quite a bit around the time it was 'supposed' to be updated, but I have given up now. And, it says London is taking 9 months, but on the CIC london website it says 6! So who knows what the actual processing times are?
Its all just part of the waiting game!!

I think they are talking about the "outland visa offices" timeline, here is the link:

I think the problem maybe that they didn't reset the date on the country list when it was updated.

Hi Guys,

The processing time was updated, I know this because the country my application is in went from 8 months to 9. Sad
So if your country hasn't changed that is a good sign.

Good luck everyone
