The Canadian visa office in New Delhi asks for the passport very early in processing, and it does not mean they are ready to issue the visa. New Delhi takes on average 6 months to process the PR visa, so you are well within the time limits. You should get the passport or some communication from the visa office within the next two months.

Like canadianwoman said New Delhi takes on average 6 months to process the PR visa, so you are well within the time limits, just because someone else got theirs in 3 months it does not mean you will also, everyones case is different, hence different processing times. Also if you knew this then why are you asking the question.
You will just have to sit it out and wait for them to contact you.
