Has anyone applied online for an extension of visitor status?

I tried to do the online application but it was asking for a client ID number.  However CIC will only pull up my (the sponsor) information with it and not my husband's so by using it looks like I am the one applying for the extension.  My concern is that it clearly states that if we have a client number and do not use it that the application will not be processed.

We have yet to receive an AOR or a different number from Kingston.

Any information would be appreciated.

Do you have a visitor record or permit from your original entry? Is there some sort of 8 digit number on it? If you didn't receive one when you entered, then I am not sure what you should do. Perhaps you don't yet have one and can leave this part blank?

I wish I could help more, but I had a work permit and don't know what the visitor permits look like yet. Good luck!

Hi Baloo,

I can't quite make out everything on the document.
Is the client ID on the left side there?
The dates look confusing to me. It looks like is was issued in Sept 2000 and expires in Mar 2000.  Sad

The image was originally edited to remove personal information, so the dates do not work.

Client ID would be listed on the right just above the "valid to " date.

Darn just trying to enlarge it - it will be back up soon.

OK thanks. Was yours a 6 month TRV?
I thought Brits didn't need visas to Canada?

Bigger image and removed the confusing dates. Client ID format is "1234 - 5678"

Brits are visa exempt, but this was issued as a six month extension.

Brits are visa exempt, the normal stay is a maximum of six months. leave and reenter you can get another six months - depending on the IO.
I recently learnt that an extension of stay (usually where a Visitor Record is issues) is not a Visa.
