congrats . could u please tell me what documents u put in order to make the process so fast?
Thanks, I don't know that we did anything more than anyone else, as a matter of fact we likely did less than many I think it is just luck of the draw with the VO.
We included about 100 photos about 20 from each year we have known each other. Many of us during travel and with the kids and family. I met my wife in 2005 and we were married in 2007 in the two years before being married I traveled to Thailand 11 times so I included all the details of those visits, flights, hotels etc... beginning in 2006 until now we have taken 12 trips together, Malaysia, SG, HK, Australia twice, Canada twice, a number of local flights to Koh Samui, Chiang Mai etc.. we included all flight details showing us both flying as well as hotel details and reservations and photos from each trip. In the two years prior to moving to Thailand we also included an index of all our email and printed a sample one from each month and made it clear we could provide any further emails upon request. My wife has a very stable background until being married she still lived at her family home so only TWO addresses to include and in her personal history she worked two long term jobs and we included all the English courses she took and passed and computer courses and the fact her job involved speaking to English speaking customers abroad so they would have no doubt about our ability to communicate. My wife has more education than I do so that was never an issue. I am older than her but clearly not enough to bother them.
The only thing I think we did differently and I must say now looking back I would NOT suggest anyone do this, but in the chance you have to detail your relationship history many tell the long story of how they met and how they fell in love and how things progressed etc.. we took a different and as I say I now think more risky tact, I wrote a rather short and to the point letter and more or less said I find it rather insulting that I am being asked to "prove" my life is real. I wondered rhetorically speaking if anyone in the SG office honestly believed that my wife and I have taken a combined 44 flights back and forth to see each other, had children together and traveled the globe for the sole purpose of getting a PR from Canada. At the time I was feeling it was all a rather personal insult that I was being made to jump through these hoops but I don't feel that way anymore I do understand that the checks and balances are in place for a reason and more so after seeing some of the abuse in the system. But again I regret writing the letter in that way as I realize now it might have caused us some short term grief.
Hope that helps.
