Choose the province where you will be most likely be approved to register and eventually work as an RN.

Weather in Vancouver is better than Ontario but the cost of houses is more expensive in Vancouver, just some of the many  things you need to take into consideration.

thanks carribRN. If i may ask, have you register already? where? my only problem now is that my ielts just turned 1 year last july 4, 2010. i dont want to take it again so i think the best option now is to wait for my saskatchewan assessment, if im eligible or not, then maybe later on will apply for endorsement... what dio you think?

Yes, I have. I did mine with CNO.

As for your IELTS, that's too bad. Don't you want to take it again? You just need the general module anyways if you are applying in Ontario.

The thing with endorsement in Canada is, from what I've heard, is not as easy as compared to endorsement in the US. I think you need to actually work for sometime in the province where you initially registered before you can have your license endorsed in another province with less hassle since you will already have your Canadian nursing experience by then. Otherwise, if you're going to do the endorsement outright, the province where you would like your registration to be endorsed might assess your paper from the scratch and the eligibility you got from your initial Board might just be forsaken.

This is what I have been told but of course you can always verify this.

hmm.. that can be an option but for now i would rather use my time and money (for the exam) for shopping. I am not sure about CNO if the wont require me the bridging program, anyway. It wont be a problem if ill be required to work in SK for a period of time before endorsement Smiley

As for your CNO application, did they require you to take the bridging program? how long did you wait from application to getting your eligibility for exam/request of bridging program?

No bridging for me. I did the competency assessment table though. I have my US license and I am currently working in a British overseas territory, the experience I used to back up my application. Took the whole process about 11months, with a few months delay which I can say was a fault on my part.

Im landing in November. Will just stay there for 1 week. I'll come back end of January though for a couple of weeks vacation and to take the CRNE in Feb 2. Smiley Don't know anyone who's applying in SK, its not a very common area of interest to new comers to tell you honestly as the weather there can really be harsh. But you do what you must do to achieve your dream of becoming a Canadian Rn. Cheers!
