Hi Guys! I just want to know if its OK to use a Bank's Official Check in paying for my immigration fees?
According to a bank official, state of Florida laws don't allow using certified checks in transactions.
Please reply. Thanks!

This is a very legit question to ask them. Give them a call, and see what they have to say.

I believe the Bank's Official Check you are referring to is the same draft check in the instructions.

"FEE PAYMENT
Consult the Fees section of our Web site or the Guide for Skilled Worker Applicants
to calculate your fees. Pay by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made
payable to the“Canadian Consulate General. Do not enclose cash."

Bank Draft/Bank issued Money Order are always expensive as well. Go to 7-Eleven and have the Money Order in 1.65 Dollars upto 500 Dollars. In US dollars you just have to pay 465.00 as Application fees.

Money Order is not as trackable as bank Draft but If you just call 1-800 number of Western Union they will update you when it was cashed. Make sure you keep the reciept.

Thank you guys for the replies.

I will try to contact CIC tomorrow before sending all the documents. Does anyone here know their direct number, other than the one posted at their website?

Instead of Calling the number, better if you send email. because they can reply. Normally they simply refer to their website: www.cic.gc.ca and say that "We do not advise on indvidual case". Untill question is very uncommon and not specified on website, suggestion is Do not contact them.

Thanks for the reminder AlbertaGoverner. However, I really need a quick answer for this question because I need to send the documents tomorrow overnight because one of my PCCs will be 3 months old already a day after. And I don't think that emailing them would give me an immediate feedback.

For those of you who have Walmart, they do Money Orders for $0.46 for about a 1000.
