Hi folks, I am in a dillema , please advise...

I was arrested for DUI in USA in Aug-2006. I want to file for PR Canada. I found the Alberta H1B fast track H1B stream. I send all the documents and I was approved as a nominee, last week. When I send the documents for Alberta H1B stream nomination I did not lie about the DUI and included it in my application with a copy of court records from the DUI case saying that case was dismissed. I was NOT convicted. I pleaded guilty and got one year probation and paid fines, no jail time or anything. I was not involved in an accident. The usual for a first time offence in USA.

Now since I got the Alberta nomination I have doubts if I should apply for CIC PR and pay 550 for me and my wife. I don't want to be denied and loose 1000 dollars. I would better buy a bigger TV Smiley. I read on the internet that having a DUI is not good for Canada, but in the same time I wonder why did they approve me??? for Alberta nomination.

Please advise me from your personal life experiences, if I will get denied by CIC.

Thanks folks!!!

Call your nomination contact and ask her, I would also call/fax CIC Buffalo with this question.

Admit the guilty and since it was a minor kind of conviction so things will be fine. But make sure that admit it in forms and explain in detailed section. Also check with your FBI report, whether this arrestation is recorded in that or not.

Legal Decisions always has its own process. The enforceability, Circumstances and Eligibility. Let it process without any hindrance. Peace!
