Hi everybody!

I have a question regarding the timeline for US Police Clearance Certificates and I hope somebody with their own experience can help.  Smiley

My credit card has been charged from the FBI, so I assume my Police Clearance request is in process. Can anybody, who requested their US Police Clearance Certificate from the UK, tell me how long it took from the time the FBI charged the credit card to the time they received the certificate?

I have been waiting for a long time now and since this is the only document holding back my filing for FSW I was wondering how much longer it might take.

I would appreciate any feedback.

Did you get it by regular mail or special delivery signed for? I just hope it does not get lost in the UK mail.  Sad

Well, that's what I was worried about because from my experience the UK postal mail system is not very reliable. It has been a week since they charged my credit card and altoghether it has been 5 weeks now. Does that mean I have to wait another three weeks?  Huh I hope not...

Right now the approx time until to process and post is 8-9 weeks. My card was charged 4 weeks before mine was posted. So 3 more weeks sounds about right.

Hi everybody,

I finally received my police certificate from the US yesterday.  Grin I took excactly 8 weeks from the time the FBI received my request until they sent the certificate to me.

I just wanted to share this information in case anybody is in the same situation as I was, anxiously awaiting the certificate.

Hi...i had a couple of doubt with respect to PCC,

1. does it is required for both primary as well co-applicant as well ?my hubby is working in US for past three years and he is co-applicant so does he need to have PCC?

2. with respect to primary applicant i.e me - i have traveled to HK, UK, US & Korea but all are business trip max. stay is for 4 weeks so, do i need the PCC from all countries ?

3. is their is any validity for PCC ?

4. do we need to submit the same in original or photocopy would be ok ?

Regards

Hi

Both, or to put it in another way All applicants 18 or over .

2. with respect to primary applicant i.e me - i have traveled to HK, UK, US & Korea but all are business trip max. stay is for 4 weeks so, do i need the PCC from all countries ?

6Month continuous stay.....So u dont need for anything less than 6 months.

3. is their is any validity for PCC ?
When CIO receive it....it should not be more than 3 month old.

4. do we need to submit the same in original or photocopy would be ok ?

ORIGINAL.

Please go through Check List in Detail.

All you need to know about the PCC process from the FBI can be found here:
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks/submitting-an-identification-record-request-to-the-fbi

There is no need to include a covering letter, they know what to do once they receive your request for police clearance. You don't need a state certificate. It will take approximately 8-9 weeks (in my case it was 8 weeks exactly from the time they received my fingerprints to the day they sent the document back to me).

I hope this helps.

I opened a Fedex account and gave the FBI my account number to send the package per Fedex as the mail in the UK is very unreliable and I was afraid that it might get lost. It is a bit pricey but all worth it. I had my cetificate after two days of them sending it off and I knew exactly when it would arrive (peace of mind is worth the extra money spent).  Wink
