My daughter is a US Citizen and Canadian PR. She lives in the US, can she preserve her Canadian PR status if she travels with the US passport? Do they know in Canada that she left Canada for more than two years? She travels by car between the two countries.
Thanks,
Robert

One of the first questions they ask when you arrive at the  booth is "How long have you been out of Canada?" It is up to your daughter whether or not she responds truthfully. The obligation to maintain PR is to be in Canada 2 years out of 5. Leaving the country for 2 years won't in and of itself cause her to lose PR.

Does she show her Canadian PR card at the border or just crosses with her passport?
