I am blessed with a Baby Boy while my PR in Canada is in process. My son was born here in the USA.
Will that delay or expedite the processing of my PR ?

Also, When I add my son to my file, should I pay 550 CAD again ?

Thanks for your advice.

Congratulations on your new son.  You must let the visa office know about his birth immediately.  It shouldn't expedite your processing but will probably not delay it very much because there will be no background checks for a baby and the medicals are simple.  The fee for a baby is $150.

Leon - Thanks for  your response. Could you also throw some light on the case?

I applied in Aug-2009 and havent got any update yet, other than the 2 file numbers. e-case indicates the file is "In-process". Last week, my file was transfered to Detroit office, but my CAIPS notes does say anything other than 10 age points.

Could you please advice?

Here is my e-case

We received your application for permanent residence on August 7, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on September 30, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Detroit office. They are pending review.

I guess you'll have to hope you hear from Detroit soon but you should lose no time and tell them about your new son immediately.  Then re-do all forms that will have changed because he needs to be on them and send the package with his fees to Detroit.
