Urgent to get my passport back, anyone can give some suggestions?

Hi, I am a Chinese student of Syracuse University. I mailed my passport and visa to Buffalo to apply for Canada Visa on Apr. 29th. However, I am notified that my original passport and visa are needed to sign my summer employment form. I really want to know how long they can return my passport back?

Thank you for your reply. I called and emailed them without any respond. If the documents are still in the visa office, I would like to drive to buffalo to get them. However, I am not sure, maybe all the documents are on the way back. Oh, my god, who can tell me what to do next? Just wait?
