We have exact same case....and Abu Dhabi refused my husband a visitor visa to come see me and advised us to wait till the PR went through. We haven't seen each other since we got married 10 months ago.

Whats your time line like?

Sponsorship was approved in Canada on 4 June, Abu Dhabi started processing on 23 July 2008. E-cas shows in process. They asked us to fill and send IMM5549.

When did Abu Dhabi start processing your file? Have you had any updates?

Yes they had asked me to fill a form & fax it to them. after that they said me for some updates in the address & they sent me the acknowledgement letter to me. & they had sent a mail that the case is with immigration officer & till now all the information is updated.

Actually, yours is not the exact same situation.  Himanshu asked whether his Canadian citizen wife could join him in Dubai while the PR ap is processing - not him coming to Canada (which, as in your case, would be denied).  As long as his wife is a Canadian citizen, she is able to travel to visit him in his country while the PR ap is processing.  If she were a Canadian PR sponsoring someone, though, she'd have to remain in Canada.

Sorry I should have been clearer....I was fusing the answers to both his questions on 2 diff threads into this one. Actually our case is exactly the same, since I am a Canadian citizen and living in Canada....I could go down to visit my husband in Dubai while the PR application is processing, just as you said. Just wanted to inform though that we have tried the TRV route for my husband and it was rejected.

I'll try and be clearer next time...my apologies again!
