hi, i applied for PR in 05 wid family . i feel i will be getting final assessment letter soon, but now i have aplied for Student visa (M TECH) along wid visitor visa application of my family (wife n kid). i clearly mentioned in my visa file that i wish to stay in canada after studies.
Now i have got call for medical with in 1 week of submitting file.
can any body clarify my doubts.
1. will i get interview call after medical or interviews are done only prior to medicals ?
2. People say that after medical if visa is refused it is due to some medical reason only , so Is their any body whose visa was refused after medical (for reason other than medical) and why?
if any body can help in this matter , it will be a great favour.

Well they ask for interview after medical and mostly they reject after medical as well. You can not say what is their real criteria. They mostly reject study visa on the following 2 reason.
1 - Same course is available in your country
2 - Visa officer is not satisfied you will come back to your home country ( as you said you already mentioned you will not so lets hope for the best)
They may be check your PR application if that is most likely YES then they will issue you study permit so remaining things can be done latter while you are in Canada. But if your PR application is not strong they might reject you that you just want to go Canada.

Hi Helpme,
I think you will not be called for an interview as usually its done before medicals. Its a case of dual intent. May I know how much funds did you show? Good Luck to you and your family. .

Also, to one of the prior concerns in this forum on this topic, my PR application was accepted in 2005 ( i qualified in number(67 marks) system) . also just to add ! currently i am working in a very reputed MNC (US, heavy machinery) in india as Asstt manager. n my wife is Post grad in IT.
SO what do you all think , is my case strong enough?? is it possible that they would give visa to me and not to my family. ( though we all have been called for med).

I think you have a strong case. I also think that if CHC has asked for medicals for all, then you all will go. Good Luck.

me planning 2 do PhD in canada next year
i'm married and applying visa 4 my family as well
wht all forms of financial documents did u submit?
wht forms of ties did u show them?
did u show an employment letter or job offer?
can v show them proprties as proof of ties?
are parents and siblings proof of ties?
did u have an interview?
if u can help me pls reply.......
