Hi to all,
I am also 4131 and i did not take IELTS, i wrote a written explanation about my English. When i ordered caips Notes and the visa officer wrote these comments about my knowledge of canadian official languages.

Comments were originally written in French and i did the translation,

KNOWLEDGE OF OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
IELTS / TEF exam? No    -English speaker
Written submissions? yes
Study or work abroad ? Yes, Finland, China,
Working in an international environment or a french or English is the
working language? Yes

Will the officer ask me to go for IELTS with these comments or I am go to go without writing IELTS?

Thanks for your comments.

Most probably not, and if your file already has In Process status and yo have not been asked for IELTS by now, chances are dim that they will ask it later. - But ball is always in VO court.

My two friends had submitted the final docs without IELTS & with explanation. I forced them to take the exam and send it to VO, so that chances of getting instruction to have IELTS becomes zero. Why - if they asks to take IELTS, applicant loose 3-5 months, how?

1. VO prepare & sends letter to take IELTS
2. Candidate gets it in 7-10 days.
3. IELTS is conducted mostly on 11th & 21st of each month, considering 2-3 weeks preparation time + next available IELTS exam date - one month is gone
4. IELTS result is out after 13-14 days, candidate get result in hand in 20 days
5. Ship the result, VO gets in 3-5 days
6. Result is added to file in 2-3 weeks
7. You get BFD with 3 months later date for review the reply of concern (proficiency in English) shared by VO

Please add the time spent in this process....

Good luck...

arlnr,

Please check your PM box.

When did you first know that you'd be called in an Interview?
when was the schedule letter delivered to you which contained the Interview date and place?
what did the the 1st letter say about Interview queue time (12-24 months) that informed that you were on thier interview list ?
